Garstang is brilliantly positioned for weddings that make the most of the Lancashire countryside.
With the market town itself, surrounding villages, rural venues and the Forest of Bowland nearby, this part of Lancashire offers something very different from a city-centre or coastal wedding.
You might be planning a relaxed country wedding, a big celebration at an established venue, a church ceremony followed by a reception in the countryside, or something much smaller with the people closest to you.
Whatever the scale of the wedding, I don't arrive with a plan to manufacture a particular set of photographs.
I want to see what makes your wedding interesting.
I'll give you direction when it's useful.
We'll get the important family photographs.
We'll find a little time for photographs of the two of you.
Then I'll get out of the way.
Because some of the best photographs happen when you've forgotten about the photographer completely.
DOCUMENTARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY IN GARSTANG
There's a misconception that great wedding photography requires hours of posing.
It doesn't.
My documentary approach is about anticipating moments rather than repeatedly creating them.
I'm constantly watching what's happening around you — expressions, reactions, relationships, humour, nerves and all the little bits of chaos that make a wedding feel alive.
That doesn't mean I'll never give you direction.
If moving somewhere gives us incredible light, I'll tell you.
If you're unsure what to do during your couple photographs, I'll help.
If twenty family members need organising, I'll organise them.
But I don't want the photography to dominate the wedding.
The experience comes first.
The result are a collection of photographs with atmosphere and personality — images that take you straight back to the people, conversations and emotions of the day rather than simply showing you what everything looked like.

More than OK.
It's one of the main reasons couples choose documentary wedding photography.
You don't need to perform for me or know what to do whenever a camera appears.
For most of the wedding, concentrate on the people around you and enjoy what's happening.
I'll concentrate on photographing it.
WILL WE STILL GET PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE TWO OF US?
Definitely.
Natural wedding photography doesn't mean you don't get beautiful photographs together.
We'll find the right location and light, I'll give you enough direction to make you comfortable, and we'll keep things relaxed.
DO YOU TAKE FAMILY GROUP PHOTOGRAPHS?
Yes.
Some photographs become incredibly important to families as the years pass.
We'll agree on the groups that matter, organise them efficiently and then let everyone get back to celebrating.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
We're in Lancashire.
There's always a chance.
Rain doesn't stop me photographing a wedding, and it certainly doesn't mean the photographs can't be brilliant.
We'll work with the venue, available light and whatever the weather gives us rather than allowing a forecast to dictate the day.
